Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN) lost 6-4 to Xiao Ming Xu (Beijing, CHN) in the Final of the Pan-Continental Championships, held October 27 - November 2, 2024 in Lacombe, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Abe won 8-4 over Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN) in the semifinals

Abe finished 4-3 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Abe defeated Ken Hsu (Taipei City, TPE) 9-1, then won 7-4 against Australia's Steve Johns and 6-4 against JaeBeom Lee (Uiseong, KOR). Abe went on to lose 5-4 against Xu. Abe lost 7-5 to Gushue where Abe responded with a 9-1 win over Anton Hood (Naseby, NZL). Abe went on to lose 8-2 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Pan-Continental Championships, Abe take home 27.500 world rankings points. For week 14 of the event schedule, Abe did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Abe ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
