Starkey finished 5-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Starkey lost 7-3 to Mike Farbelow (St. Paul, MN), then responded with a 8-5 win over Kent Arrell (Rochester, MN). Starkey went on to lose 7-1 against Timothy Ho (Wayland, MA). Starkey responded with a 9-5 win over Jon Schiestel (Greeley, CO). Starkey won 7-3 against Matt Aro (Madison, WI), then won 8-4 against Todd Ussatis (Bismarck, ND) and 5-4 against Jeff Wright (Chicago, IL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Starkey ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
