Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI) finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hoesli defeated Manuel Jermann (Arlesheim, SUI) 6-2, then went on to lose 8-7 against Switzerland's Andrin Schnider. Hoesli lost 5-3 to Yannick Schwaller (Geneve, SUI) where Hoesli responded with a 6-2 win over Jan Iseli (Solothun, SUI). Hoesli won 5-4 against Michael Brunner (Bern, SUI), then won 9-5 against Yves Stocker (Zug, SUI) and 8-4 against Jan Tanner (Zug, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.

Hoesli earned 11.250 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 29th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 7.5 after improving upon their best so far this season. Hoesli ranks 29th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 115.875 points earned so far this season.
