In their opening game, Symonds defeated Dylan Hancock (St. John's, NL) 11-2, then won 8-5 against Smith and 7-2 against Harold Walters (St. John's, NL). Symonds went on to lose 8-7 against McNeil Lamswood. Symonds lost 7-5 to Nathan Young (St. Johns, NL) where Symonds responded with a 6-2 win over Trent Skanes (St. John's, NL). Symonds won 5-4 against Parker Tipple (St. John's, NL), then won 8-4 against Dave Thomas (Port-aux-Basques, NL) and 7-6 against Young in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Newfoundland & Labrador Tankard Championship title, Symonds earned 3.750 world rankings points, moving up 14 spots the World Ranking Standings into 132nd place overall with 18.000 total points.
