In their opening game, Gushue/Gushue defeated Susan Curtis/Keith Ryan (Labrador City, NL) 7-6, then won 12-4 against Sarah Thomas/Dave Thomas (Port aux Basques, NL) and 9-5 against Hayley Gushue/Nicholas Codner (St. John's, NL). Gushue/Gushue went on to lose 10-6 against Emily Neary/Dylan Hancock (St. John's, NL). Gushue/Gushue responded with a 9-5 win over Kate Paterson/Sam Follett (St. John's, NL). Gushue/Gushue won 5-4 against Wiseman/Smith in their final qualifying round match.
