Hussain3-2 at World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event 2023

Farzana Hussain (Georgetown, GUY) finished 3-2 in the 26-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hussain defeated Estefana Quintero (Mexico City, MEX) 9-4, then won 10-3 against Liza Gregori (Ljubjana, SLO). Hussain went on to lose 9-4 against Csilia Halasz (Budapest, HUN). Hussain lost 13-4 to Ling-Yue Hung (Hong Kong, HKG) where Hussain responded with a 8-7 win over Lina Opel (Kent, ENG) in their final qualifying round match.

Hussain earned 2.250 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 20 of the event schedule, Hussain did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 208th to 210th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 4.876 total points. Hussain ranks 246th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.126 points earned so far this season.
