To advance to the championship game, Kim won 9-4 over Minjae Jung (Uiseong, KOR) in the semifinals of the 2023 Uiseong Korean Cup in Uiseong, Korea;
Kim finished 4-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim lost 6-5 to Gim, then responded with a 6-4 win over Seungyoun Ha (Chuncheon, KOR). Kim won 8-4 against Minseo Kim (Jeonbuk, KOR), then won 10-2 against Jung and 7-6 against Youbeen Park (Seoul, KOR). Kim went on to lose 0-0 against Jung in their final qualifying round match.
Kim earned 22.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 12th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 6 after improving upon their best so far this season. Kim ranks 8th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 145.500 points earned so far this season.
