In their opening game, Desjardins defeated Paulo Bienvenue (Val-d'Or, QC) 6-5, then won 9-1 against Adam Bedard (Rouyn-Noranda, QC) and 8-3 against Denis Duval (Val-d'Or, QC). Desjardins won 11-6 against Gerry Savoie (Val-d'Or, QC) in their final qualifying round match.
