Takanori Ichimura (Nagano, JPN) lost 10-4 to Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) in the Final of the Chubu Curling Championships, held January 12 - 15, 2023 in Chubu, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Ichimura won 5-4 over Japan's Hiroki Hara in the semifinals of the 2023 Chubu Curling Championships in Chubu, Japan;

Ichimura finished 3-0 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ichimura defeated Daisuke Kobayashi (Karuizawa, JPN) 13-4, then won 13-4 against Japan's Shinichi Tokuyama and 5-3 against Kazuya Uehara (Karuizawa, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Chubu Curling Championships, Ichimura take home 5.500 world rankings points. For week 24 of the event schedule, Ichimura did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Ichimura ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
