Tsuyoshi Sukekawa (Morioka, JPN) lost 9-4 to Kotaro Noguchi (Sendai-shi, JPN) in the Final of the Tohoku Curling Championships, held December 9 - 11, 2022 in Tohoku, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Sukekawa won 8-3 over Yoshito Nakamura (Aomori, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2023 Tohoku Curling Championships in Tohoku, Japan;

Sukekawa finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sukekawa defeated Japan's Takahiro Kodama 9-8, then went on to lose 9-2 against Japan's Nobuyuki Kato. Sukekawa responded with a 6-5 win over Yuun Ishimura (Aomori, JPN). Sukekawa won 7-4 against Masayuki Namioka (Morioka, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Tohoku Curling Championships, Sukekawa take home 5.500 world rankings points. For week 19 of the event schedule, Sukekawa did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Sukekawa ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
