Nakamura finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Nakamura defeated Japan's Toshiaki Takahashi 16-2, then won 11-2 against Japan's Junto Nagatani and 10-4 against Japan's Yasuhiro Sano. Nakamura went on to lose 8-3 against Kotaro Noguchi (Sendai-shi, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their fourth place finish at the Tohoku Curling Championships, Nakamura take home 4.000 world rankings points. For week 19 of the event schedule, Nakamura did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Nakamura ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
