Sean Becker (Naseby, NZL) lost 8-4 to Anton Hood (Naseby, NZL) in the Final of the New Zealand National Championships, held June 14 - 18, 2023 at the Naseby Curling Club in Naseby, New Zealand. To advance to the championship game, Becker won 10-4 over Garion Long (Naseby, NZL) in the semifinals

Becker finished 6-1 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Becker defeated William Becker (Naseby, NZL) 10-3, then won 13-4 against Darcy Nevill (Naseby, NZL) and 12-1 against Dave Watt (Naseby, NZL). Becker won 9-2 against Dean Fotti (Naseby, NZL). Becker went on to lose 8-2 against Hood. Becker responded with a 7-4 win over Peter De Boer (Naseby, NZL). Becker won 9-2 against Long in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the New Zealand National Championships, Becker take home 2.750 world rankings points, dropping 317 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 317th place overall with 2.750 total points. Becker ranks 10th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.750 points earned so far this season.
