Ryo Ogihara (Tokyo, JPN) won 8-5 over Japan's Ryutaro Tani in the Final of the Kanto Curling Championships, held January 7 - 9, 2023 in Karuizawa, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Ogihara won 8-7 over Junpei Kanda (Tokyo, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2023 Kanto Curling Championships in Karuizawa, Japan; and won 6-5 over Japan's Ken Kanai in the quarterfinals.
Ogihara finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ogihara defeated Japan's Ryutaro Tani 10-4, then won 18-0 against Japan's Jian Toru and 7-2 against Japan's Yusuke Tanaka in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Kanto Curling Championships Championship title, Ogihara earned 7.500 world rankings points. For week 23 of the event schedule, Ogihara did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Ogihara ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
