In their opening game, Ruohonen defeated Bryce Breen (St. Paul, MN) 8-3, then won 5-4 against Elliott Mansell (Denver, CO) and 6-3 against Bryan Burgess (Thunder Bay, NONT). Ruohonen won 8-5 against Caden Hebert (Eau Claire, WI). Ruohonen went on to lose 7-4 against Ethan Sampson (Chaska, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the St. Paul Cashspiel, Ruohonen take home 5.500 world rankings points along with the $2,500CDN prize. Ruohonen move up 7 spots after posting a net gain of 3.625 points improving upon their best 3 results so far this season, ranking 91st overall with 36.594 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
