To advance to the championship game, McEwen/McEwen won 6-4 over Jennifer Jones/Brent Laing (Barrie, ON) in the semifinals   of the 2023 St. Vital Mixed Doubles NISO Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and won 9-1 over Mackenzie Arbuckle/Aaron Macdonell (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals.  of the 2023 St. Vital Mixed Doubles NISO Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; 
 
McEwen/McEwen finished 3-1 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McEwen/McEwen defeated Juliana Hari/Josh Hari (Thunder Bay, NONT) 8-1, then won 7-3 against Saskatchewan's Shelby Lamontagne/Grady LaMontagne and 10-2 against Sherry Just/Chad Gareau (Prince Albert, SK). McEwen/McEwen went on to lose 6-2 against Armstrong/Griffith in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the St. Vital Mixed Doubles NISO Classic, McEwen/McEwen take home 13.750 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN prize. For week 5 of the event schedule, McEwen/McEwen did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 155th to 156th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 8.500 total points.
