McEwen finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McEwen defeated Cole Adams (Calgary, AB) 7-3, then won 7-5 against Jared Jenkins (Calgary, AB) and 7-1 against Giacomo Colli (Cortina dâAmpezzo, ITA) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Original 16 Mens Cash Spiel Championship title, McEwen earned 22.500 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN first prize cheque.
