Benson finished 3-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . Benson went on to lose 7-4 against Despins in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Duluth Cash Spiel Championship title, Benson earned 15.000 world rankings points along with the $4,308CDN first prize cheque, moving up 15 spots the World Ranking Standings into 64th place overall with 46.517 total points. Benson ranks 69th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 30.000 points earned so far this season.
