Takumi Maeda (Kitami, JPN) run at the 2023 MCT Challenge came to an end in the semifinals with a 9-2 loss to Jed Brundidge (Chaska, MN). of the 2023 MCT Challenge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;

Maeda finished 3-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Maeda defeated Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) 6-5, then won 10-2 against Brundidge and 6-2 against Riley Smith (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Maeda earned 3.625 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the MCT Challenge. For week 7 of the event schedule, Maeda did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 94th to 95th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 36.000 total points. Maeda ranks 37th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 13.500 points earned so far this season.
