To advance to the championship game, Walter won 8-4 over Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2023 MCT Curling Cup in Winnipeg, Manitoba;
 
Walter finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walter lost 9-4 to Grassie, then responded with a 6-3 win over Zachary Wasylik (Winnipeg, MB). Walter won 6-5 against Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB), then won 4-2 against Steen Sigurdson (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the MCT Curling Cup Championship title, Walter earned 11.250 world rankings points along with the $2,500CDN first prize cheque. Walter move up 21 spots after posting a net gain of 8.117 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 88th overall with 37.719 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Walter ranks 66th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 25.188 points earned so far this season.
