Mike McEwen (Saskatoon, SK) finished 2-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McEwen defeated Jongduk Park (Gangwon, KOR) 7-4, then went on to lose 8-7 against Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI).
