Jongduk Park (Gangwon, KOR) lost 8-2 to Kohsuke Hirata (Kitami, JPN) in the Final of the Hokkaido Bank Curling Classic, held August 3 - 6, 2023 at the Hokkaido Bank Curling Stadium in Sapporo, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Park won 6-5 over Riku Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2023 Hokkaido Bank Curling Classic in Sapporo, Japan;
Park finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Park defeated Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN) 6-5, then won 8-4 against JaeBeom Lee (Uiseong, KOR) and 7-6 against Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). Park went on to lose 4-2 against Hirata in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Hokkaido Bank Curling Classic, Park take home 16.500 world rankings points along with the $4,646CDN prize, moving up 18 spots the World Ranking Standings into 49th place overall with 71.813 total points. Park ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 31.500 points earned so far this season.
