To advance to the championship game, Gosgens won 7-2 over Andreas Harstad (Oppdal, NOR) in the semifinals of the 2024 Sun City Cup in Karlstad, Sweden; and won 5-4 over Simon Granbom (Gavle, SWE) in the quarterfinals. of the 2024 Sun City Cup in Karlstad, Sweden;
Gosgens finished 5-0 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gosgens defeated Bryce 9-6, then won 11-3 against Mikkel Krause (Hvidovre, DEN) and 8-2 against Alexander Lindstroem (Snaroya, NOR). Gosgens won 7-5 against Axel Landelius (Mjoelby, SWE), then won 12-2 against Jan Iseli (Solothun, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Sun City Cup Championship title, Gosgens earned 22.500 world rankings points along with the $3,912CDN first prize cheque. Gosgens move up 6 spots after posting a net gain of 18.75 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 31st overall with 104.000 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
