Cory Thiesse (Duluth, USA) won 8-2 over Chiaki Matsumura (Karuizawa, JPN) in the Final of the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, held April 22 - 29, 2023 in Gangneung, Korea. To advance to the championship game, Thiesse won 6-2 over Jennifer Jones (Barrie, CAN) in the semifinals of the 2023 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Gangneung, Korea; and won 8-6 over Jennifer Dodds (Stirling, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Gangneung, Korea;
 
Thiesse finished 7-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thiesse defeated Therese Westman (Stockholm, SWE) 7-6, then went on to lose 7-5 against Matsumura. Thiesse responded with a 8-2 win over Briar Schwaller (Bern, SUI). Thiesse won 10-2 against Hannah Augustin (Kitzbuehel, AUT), then won 7-1 against Pia-Lisa Schoell (Fuessen, GER) and 7-2 against Lina Opel (Kent, ENG). Thiesse won 5-3 against Martine Roenning (Lillehammer, NOR), then won 8-7 against Dilsat Yildiz (Erzurum, TUR). Thiesse went on to lose 9-8 against Oihane Otaegi (San Sebastian, ESP) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship Championship title, Thiesse earned 82.500 world rankings points. For week 39 of the event schedule, Thiesse did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Thiesse ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
