In their opening game, Lockhart defeated Switzerland's Monika Gafner 10-4, then won 7-4 against Elena Kapostina (Riga, LAT) and 12-4 against Lenka Safrankova (Prague, CZE). Lockhart won 10-4 against Ireland's Dale Sinclair, then won 7-2 against Australia's Kim Forge and 18-1 against Finland's Tiina Julkunen in their final qualifying round match.
