Rylan Kleiter (Saskatoon, SK) won 6-4 over Sam Mooibroek (Whitby, ON) in the Final of the U25 NextGen Classic, held August 29 - September 2, 2023 at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Kleiter won 7-6 over Ryan Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2023 U25 NextGen Classic in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;
Kleiter finished 4-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kleiter defeated Sam Steep (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON) 6-2, then won 5-2 against Daymond Bernath (Saskatoon, SK) and 7-1 against Ryan Parent (Calgary, AB). Kleiter won 10-2 against Ryan Jacques (Edmonton, AB). Kleiter went on to lose 8-3 against Mooibroek in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the U25 NextGen Classic Championship title, Kleiter earned 22.500 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 6 spots the World Ranking Standings into 32nd place overall with 129.875 total points. Kleiter ranks 14th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 33.375 points earned so far this season.
