Brent Pierce (New Westminster, BC) finished 4-1 in the 30-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pierce defeated John Epping (Toronto, ON) 5-3, then won 5-2 against Cameron de Jong (Penticton, BC) and 6-3 against Michael Brunner (Bern, SUI). Pierce won 6-2 against Jeff Berg (Vancouver, BC). Pierce went on to lose 7-6 against Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

The berth into the first round of the Nufloors Penticton Curling Classic playoffs earned Pierce 9.000 world rankings points. Pierce move up 10 spots after posting a net gain of 5.116 points improving upon their best 6 results so far this season, ranking 67th overall with 51.402 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Pierce ranks 56th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 39.750 points earned so far this season.
