Jared Kolomaya (Richmond, BC) finished 2-3 in the 30-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kolomaya lost 6-3 to Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB), droppimg another game, 7-3 to Sebastien Robillard (Langley, BC) where Kolomaya responded with a 7-1 win over Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI). Kolomaya won 8-2 against Chris Jones (Penticton, BC). Kolomaya went on to lose 7-2 against Brendan Bottcher (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Kolomaya earned 4.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 83rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of -1.13 after improving upon their best so far this season. Kolomaya ranks 81st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 24.375 points earned so far this season.
