In their opening game, Purcell lost 8-5 to Cameron de Jong (Penticton, BC), then responded with a 5-1 win over Andrew Dunbar (Edmonton, AB). Purcell won 8-7 against Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED). Purcell went on to lose 8-3 against Michael Brunner (Bern, SUI). Purcell lost 10-6 to Gosgens in their final qualifying round match.

For week 8 of the event schedule, Purcell did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 41st to 42nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 93.938 total points.
