Chikara Segawa (Morioka, JPN) lost 6-3 to Takumi Hasegawa (Tokyo, JPN) in the Final of the Morioka City Mens Memorial Cup, held June 15 - 16 in Morioka, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Segawa won 6-2 over Kaito Fujii (Karuizawa, JPN) in the semifinals of the Morioka City Mens Memorial Cup in Morioka, Japan;

Segawa finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Segawa defeated Miharu Kubota (Nagano, JPN) 10-3, then won 6-3 against Nobuhito Kasahara (Tokyo, JPN). Segawa went on to lose 7-6 against Daiki Shikano (Tokyo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Morioka City Mens Memorial Cup, Segawa take home 2.750 world rankings points. For week 1 of the event schedule, Segawa did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Segawa ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
