Segawa finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Segawa defeated Miharu Kubota (Nagano, JPN) 10-3, then won 6-3 against Nobuhito Kasahara (Tokyo, JPN). Segawa went on to lose 7-6 against Daiki Shikano (Tokyo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
