Johnson Tao (Edmonton, AB) run at the 2023 Saville Shootout came to an end in the semifinals with a 5-3 loss to Brendan Bottcher (Calgary, AB). of the 2023 Saville Shootout in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Tao advanced through the quarterfinals with a 7-5 win over Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB).

Tao earned 19.125 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Saville Shootout, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 47th place overall with 83.563 total points. Tao ranks 30th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 19.125 points earned so far this season.
