To advance to the championship game, Carey won 9-6 over Serena Gray-Withers (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2023 Saville Shootout in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and won 7-1 over Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 Saville Shootout in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;
Carey finished 4-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey defeated Eun ji Gim (Uijeongbu, KOR) 6-5, then won 7-5 against Nancy Martin (Saskatoon, SK) and 7-2 against Momoha Tabata (Sapporo, JPN). Carey went on to lose 7-3 against Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC). Carey responded with a 8-1 win over Gray-Withers in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Saville Shootout, Carey take home 38.500 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN prize, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 6th place overall with 326.500 total points. Carey ranks 9th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 38.500 points earned so far this season.
