To advance to the championship game, Nakamura won 6-5 over Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC) in the semifinals of the 2023 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; and won 6-5 over Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) in the quarterfinals.
Nakamura finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Nakamura lost 6-4 to Brown, then responded with a 5-4 win over Rhonda Varnes (Winnipeg, MB). Nakamura won 8-2 against Emira Abbes (Fuessen, GER). Nakamura went on to lose 10-4 against Skylar Ackerman (Saskatoon, SK). Nakamura responded with a 5-4 win over Michelle Englot (Regina, SK). Nakamura won 6-3 against Seungyoun Ha (Chuncheon , KOR) to advance to the C-Qualifier where they 9-6 against Kristy Watling (Winnipeg, MB) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic, Nakamura take home 35.750 world rankings points along with the $8,200CDN prize.
