Mooibroek finished 3-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mooibroek defeated Daniel Hocevar (Toronto, ON) 8-5, then won 6-5 against Mark Kean (Woodstock, ON). Mooibroek went on to lose 5-3 against Ferris. Mooibroek responded with a 9-3 win over Champ in their final qualifying round match.
