Mouat finished 4-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mouat defeated Owen Purcell (Halifax, NS) 9-3, then won 6-3 against Tanner Horgan (Sudbury, NONT) and 4-1 against Sam Mooibroek (Whitby, ON). Mouat won 7-1 against Greg Smith (St. John's , NL) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard Championship title, Mouat earned 41.250 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 1st place overall with 452.500 total points.
