Mackenzie Mitchell (St.John's, NL) lost 10-4 to Myla Plett (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the New Holland Canadian Junior Championship, held March 25 - April 2, 2023 in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. Advancing directly to the semifinals, Mitchell won 7-6 over Zoey Terrick (Winnipeg, MB) to advance to the championship game. of the 2023 New Holland Canadian Junior Championship in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec; of the 2023 New Holland Canadian Junior Championship in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec;
 
Mitchell finished 7-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mitchell defeated Jenna Campbell (Fredericton, NB) 7-2, then won 6-3 against Melodie Forsythe (Fredericton, NB) and 9-3 against Anne Sophie Gionest (Alma, QC). Mitchell won 7-3 against Ella Lenentine (Cornwall, PEI), then won 7-6 against Tori Zemmelink (Ottawa, ON) and 10-8 against Sophie Blades (Chester, NS). Mitchell went on to lose 8-4 against Grace Beaudry (Winnipeg, MB). Mitchell responded with a 6-5 win over Reese Wainman (Inuvik, NT) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the New Holland Canadian Junior Championship, Mitchell take home 16.500 world rankings points. For week 35 of the event schedule, Mitchell did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Mitchell ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
