Kim finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim lost 8-4 to Dupont, then responded with a 5-2 win over Isabelle Ladouceur (Whitby, ON). Kim won 10-3 against Corrie Huerlimann (Zug, SUI), then won 8-1 against Nancy Martin (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the HearingLife Tour Challenge Tier 2 Championship title, Kim earned 41.250 world rankings points along with the $10,750CDN first prize cheque.
