Kayla MacMillan/Sterling Middleton (Vancouver, BC) won 8-3 over Jessica Zheng/Victor Pietrangelo (Niagara Falls, ON) in the Final of the Next Gen U25 Mixed Doubles, held September 2 - 4, 2023 at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, MacMillan/Middleton won 10-4 over Paige Papley/Evan Van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2023 Next Gen U25 Mixed Doubles in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and won 10-2 over Lauren Cheal/Greg Cheal (Sherbrooke, QC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 Next Gen U25 Mixed Doubles in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;
 
MacMillan/Middleton finished 4-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, MacMillan/Middleton defeated Jorja Kopytko/Coburn Fadden (Vernon, BC) 8-3, then won 9-6 against Hayley Gushue/Nicholas Codner (St. John's, NL). MacMillan/Middleton went on to lose 7-6 against Cheal/Cheal. MacMillan/Middleton responded with a 9-4 win over Kya Kennedy/Landon Field (Saskatoon, SK). MacMillan/Middleton won 6-2 against Olivia Wynter/Cameron Sallaj (Moncton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Next Gen U25 Mixed Doubles Championship title, MacMillan/Middleton earned 15.000 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 6 of the event schedule, MacMillan/Middleton did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 52nd place on the World Ranking Standings with 45.750 total points. MacMillan/Middleton ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 33.750 points earned so far this season.
