To advance to the championship game, McLaughlin/Horgan won 7-6 over Terri Weeks/Sam Steep (Waterloo, ON) in the semifinals of the 2023 Mixed Doubles Provincial Championship in Kingston, Ontario; and won 6-5 over Lauren Wasylkiw/Shane Konings (Stouffville, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 Mixed Doubles Provincial Championship in Kingston, Ontario;
McLaughlin/Horgan finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McLaughlin/Horgan defeated Sarah Bailey/Dylan Sipura (St.Catherines, ON) 7-6, then won 8-3 against Mackenzie Kiemele/Graham Singer (Guelph, ON) and 7-3 against Kimberly Tuck/Wayne Tuck (Strathroy, ON). McLaughlin/Horgan won 8-1 against Anneka Burghout/Marty Thompson (Toronto, ON). McLaughlin/Horgan went on to lose 10-8 against Lyndsey Wilson/Scott Dow (Palmerston , ON) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Mixed Doubles Provincial Championship, McLaughlin/Horgan take home 16.500 world rankings points.
