In their opening game, Gauthier lost 6-5 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN), droppimg another game, 10-8 to Thomas Scoffin (Whitehorse, YK). Gauthier lost 9-3 to Brendan Bottcher (Calgary, AB) where Gauthier responded with a 8-5 win over Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB). Gauthier won 10-4 against Scott Jones (Moncton, NB). Gauthier went on to lose 7-6 against Felix Asselin (Montreal, QC). Gauthier lost 10-6 to Mike McEwen (Toronto, ON) where Gauthier responded with a 9-2 win over Tyler Smith (Charlottetown , PEI) in their final qualifying round match.

Gauthier earned 10.688 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 34th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 1.253 after improving upon their best so far this season. Gauthier ranks 34th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 113.938 points earned so far this season.
