James Grattan (Oromocto, NB) run at the 2023 New Brunswick Tankard came to an end in the semifinals with a 7-6 loss to Scott Jones (Moncton, NB). of the 2023 New Brunswick Tankard in Moncton, New Brunswick;

Grattan finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Grattan lost 10-6 to Alex Robichaud (Fredericton, NB), then responded with a 11-5 win over New Brunswick's Trevor Hanson. Grattan won 8-3 against Jason Roach (Fredericton, NB), then won 8-6 against Jack Smeltzer (Fredericton, NB) and 10-6 against Zack Eldridge (Fredericton, NB). Grattan won 7-6 against Mike Kennedy (Fredericton, NB). Grattan went on to lose 8-7 against Jones in their final qualifying round match.

Grattan earned 4.250 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the New Brunswick Tankard, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 69th place overall with 54.457 total points. Grattan ranks 69th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 47.813 points earned so far this season.
