Ryo Ogihara (Tokyo, JPN) finished 2-6 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ogihara lost 10-4 to Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN), droppimg another game, 7-6 to Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). Ogihara lost 9-4 to Riku Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN). Ogihara lost 7-3 to Hayato Sato (Sapporo, JPN) where Ogihara responded with a 7-4 win over Hiroki Yoshioka (Okayama, JPN). Ogihara went on to lose 8-4 against Kohsuke Hirata (Kitami, JPN). Ogihara responded with a 8-4 win over Takanori Ichimura (Nagano, JPN). Ogihara went on to lose 11-5 against Japan's Kotaro Noguchi in their final qualifying round match.

Ogihara earned 2.625 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 27 of the event schedule, Ogihara did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Ogihara ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
