Morozumi responded with a 10-2 win over Hiroki Yoshioka (Okayama, JPN). Morozumi won 6-2 against Hayato Sato (Sapporo, JPN), then won 8-2 against Takanori Ichimura (Nagano, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Morozumi earned 10.500 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the ZEH-NOH Japan Curling Championship. Morozumi move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 5.389 points improving upon their best 7 results so far this season, ranking 38th overall with 101.735 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
