Young finished 6-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Young defeated Sean O'Leary (St. John's, NL) 5-3, then went on to lose 5-3 against Trent Skanes (St. John's, NL). Young responded with a 10-5 win over Ken Peddigrew (St. John's, NL). Young won 9-5 against Andrew Symonds (St. John's, NL), then won 6-2 against Ryan McNeil Lamswood (St. John's, NL) and 9-4 against Smith. Young won 9-1 against Dave Thomas (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Newfoundland & Labrador Tankard Championship title, Young earned 11.250 world rankings points. For week 26 of the event schedule, Young did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Young ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
