Abby Burgess (Oromocto, NB) lost 10-5 to Andrea Kelly (Oromocto, NB) in the Final of the New Brunswick Scotties, held January 19 - 22, 2023 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. To advance to the championship game, Burgess won 9-6 over Shaelyn Park (Moncton, NB) in the semifinals of the 2023 New Brunswick Scotties in Fredericton, New Brunswick;
 
Burgess finished 5-1 in the 7-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Burgess defeated Jaclyn Crandall (Fredericton, NB) 8-6, then won 8-4 against Sarah Gaines (Oromocton, NB). Burgess went on to lose 10-5 against Kelly. Burgess responded with a 7-6 win over Samantha Crook (Sackville, NB). Burgess won 11-5 against Park, then won 9-6 against Shelly Graham (Fredericton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the New Brunswick Scotties, Burgess take home 5.500 world rankings points. For week 25 of the event schedule, Burgess did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Burgess ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
