CHAMPION: Thiesse/Dropkin Wins 2023 USA Curling Mixed Doubles National Championship

Cory Thiesse/Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) won 8-3 over Sarah Anderson/Andrew Stopera (Minneapolis, MN) in the Final of the USA Curling Mixed Doubles National Championship, held February 28 - March 5, 2023 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Advancing directly to the semifinals, Thiesse/Dropkin won 7-4 over Taylor Anderson/Ben Richardson (Chaska , MN) to advance to the championship game. of the 2023 USA Curling Mixed Doubles National Championship in Kalamazoo, Michigan; of the 2023 USA Curling Mixed Doubles National Championship in Kalamazoo, Michigan;

Thiesse/Dropkin finished 7-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thiesse/Dropkin defeated Kirstin Nickel/Gabriel Nickel (Hudson , WI) 8-2, then won 11-7 against Anderson/Stopera and 8-2 against Delaney Strouse/Daniel Casper (Minneapolis , MN). Thiesse/Dropkin won 10-0 against Nicole Bookhout/Dan Wiza (Madison, WI), then won 7-4 against Anderson/Richardson and 10-2 against Ann Podoll/Nathan Parry (Fargo, ND). Thiesse/Dropkin won 7-3 against Sydney Mullaney/Chase Sinnett (Chaska, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the USA Curling Mixed Doubles National Championship Championship title, Thiesse/Dropkin earned 45.000 world rankings points. For week 31 of the event schedule, Thiesse/Dropkin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Thiesse/Dropkin ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
