Kirstin Nickel/Gabriel Nickel (Hudson , WI) finished 3-4 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Nickel/Nickel lost 8-2 to Cory Thiesse/Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN), then responded with a 10-8 win over Sydney Mullaney/Chase Sinnett (Chaska, MN). Nickel/Nickel won 8-7 against Nicole Bookhout/Dan Wiza (Madison, WI). Nickel/Nickel went on to lose 7-4 against Delaney Strouse/Daniel Casper (Minneapolis , MN). Nickel/Nickel responded with a 8-3 win over Ann Podoll/Nathan Parry (Fargo, ND). Nickel/Nickel went on to lose 11-7 against Taylor Anderson/Ben Richardson (Chaska , MN). Nickel/Nickel lost 7-3 to Sarah Anderson/Andrew Stopera (Minneapolis, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

Nickel/Nickel earned 6.750 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 31 of the event schedule, Nickel/Nickel did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Nickel/Nickel ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
