In their opening game, Marks lost 6-5 to Seungyoun Ha (Chuncheon, KOR), droppimg another game, 8-4 to Delaney Strouse (Minneapolis, USA) where Marks responded with a 9-2 win over Sae Yamamoto (Sapporo, JPN). Marks won 12-2 against Carmen Perez (San Sebastian, ESP). Marks went on to lose 7-4 against Yu Han (Beijing, CHN). Marks lost 6-2 to Emma Moberg (Stockholm, SWE) where Marks responded with a 10-1 win over Australia's Kirby Gill. Marks went on to lose 8-4 against Fay Henderson (Dumfries, GBR). Marks responded with a 5-3 win over Corrie Huerlimann (Zug, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.

Marks earned 3.750 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
