Waddell finished 3-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Waddell defeated Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE) 5-4, then won 5-4 against Ross Craik (Stirling, SCO) and 6-3 against Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED). Waddell went on to lose 7-1 against Whyte. Waddell lost 0-0 to Gosgens in their final qualifying round match.
Waddell earned 21.250 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Aberdeen International Curling Championship. Waddell move up 16 spots after posting a net gain of 19.937 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 43rd overall with 78.251 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
