Cody Tanaka (New Westminster, BC) finished 4-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tanaka lost 5-4 to Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC), then responded with a 7-2 win over Cameron de Jong (Penticton, BC). Tanaka won 6-5 against Jason Montgomery (Victoria, BC). Tanaka went on to lose 7-6 against Brent Pierce (Kelowna, BC). Tanaka responded with a 10-7 win over Sean Geall (Salmon Arm, BC) to advance to the C-Qualifier where they 9-4 against Sebastien Robillard (Port Coquitlam, BC) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.

Tanaka earned 7.500 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the BC Men's Provincials.
