Brent Pierce (Kelowna, BC) lost 8-5 to Jacques Gauthier (Victoria, BC) in the Final of the BC Men's Provincials, held January 11 - 15, 2023 in Chilliwack, British Columbia. To advance to the championship game, Pierce won 9-8 over Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC) in the semifinals of the 2023 BC Men's Provincials in Chilliwack, British Columbia;
Pierce finished 4-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pierce defeated Jason Montgomery (Victoria, BC) 7-5, then won 10-5 against Sebastien Robillard (Port Coquitlam, BC) to advance to a A-Qualifier game where they lost 9-8 against Gauthier. Pierce responded with a 7-6 win over Cody Tanaka (New Westminster, BC) to advance to a B-Qualifier game where they lost 9-8 against Cotter to drop into a C-Qualifier game where they responded with a 10-5 win over Cameron de Jong (Penticton, BC) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the BC Men's Provincials, Pierce take home 13.750 world rankings points. For week 24 of the event schedule, Pierce did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Pierce ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
